Stump grinding and removal
A stump left in the ground is a trip hazard, an obstacle to mowing and a reason you cannot lay a patio or re-turf over that part of the garden. Digging one out by hand is brutal work and usually damages everything around it.
Grinding is the practical answer. A machine takes the stump down below ground level along with the main surface roots, turning it into chip as it goes. How deep we go depends on what you want to do next: a lawn needs less depth than a patio or a new tree. The chip can be raked back and topped with soil, or removed.
