Gravel driveways done properly
Gravel is the most affordable way to surface a drive, it drains freely, and it suits a frontage where a hard black surface would look wrong. The usual complaint is that it migrates: ruts form and the stone ends up on the pavement.
That is a construction problem, not a gravel problem. We lay a compacted base, install a stabilising grid or membrane so the stone is held in cells rather than floating loose, and restrain every edge. Filled to the right depth the surface stays put, the wheels do not dig in and the stone stays on the drive.
